WAUNAKEE - George J. Buechner, age 92, formerly of Martinsville, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at Waunakee Manor Health Care Center. George was born April 23, 1917, the son of Michael and Mary (Hellenbrand) Buechner. George is survived by his wife of 69 years, Rosalia Ziegler. They were married in St. Bernard Catholic Church in Middleton, Oct. 2, 1940. George was a caring and faithful husband to Rosalia and loving father to his nine children and their families, Robert (Marlys) of Madison, Mark, Mike and Todd; Janet (Milan) Warren of Fish Creek, Steve, Linda and Chris; Helen Buechner of Verona and Gina; John ( Diane) of Middleton, Sherry Pam and Dan; Louise (Jim) Gregie of Park Ridge, Ill., Joel and Neil; Virginia (Glen) Boehlke of Fond du Lac, Kristina and Alyssa; Jim (Chris) of Middleton and George; Dave (Betsy) of Waunakee, Kevin, Megan and Michelle; and Paul (Tami) of Martinsville, Zachary and Kyle. George is further survived by his sister, Casilda Buechner; and 13 great-grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Anna Buechner. George lived on his beloved farm on Whippoorwill Road for 81 years. He loved his family parish at St. Martin where he sang in the choir and volunteered for various ministries. Family wishes to thank the staff at Waunakee Manor and Dr. Mark Beamsley for their compassionate care. Visitation on Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at WINN-CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 5785 Highway Q, Waunakee. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at 11 a.m. at ST. MARTIN CATHOLIC CHURCH (Martinsville), 5959 St. Martin Circle, Cross Plains, WI 53528. Prior to the service, a visitation will be held at St. Martin, beginning at 10 a.m.
