George Hutton

April 20, 1920 — August 29, 2014

Madison - George W. Hutton Jr., age 94, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014 at St. Mary's Care Center. He was born on April 20, 1920 to George and Katie Hutton in Kadoka, South Dakota. In 1938, George joined the U.S. Navy and served 23 years until his retirement in 1961. He was aboard the U.S.S. Nevada at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed. George was united in marriage to Jo Nettles on January 4, 1944. He loved to golf, go hunting with his dogs, and fishing. George is survived by his two daughters, Linda Langdon and Becky Hutton both of Madison; his two grandchildren, Brian (Alisa) Schillinger and Jennifer Hunter; two great-grandchildren, Ian and Finnian Schillinger; one sister, Carol May; best friend, Sandy Cesnik; special caretaker, Sandy Wimble; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo; son, Bill; six sisters and one brother.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at MIDVALE COMMUNITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4329 Today Blvd, Madison. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Mary's Care Center for their wonderful care.
