George P. Joanis

Stoughton- George Phillip Joanis, age 54, passed away at home on March 19, 2009.  He was born on August 6, 1954, son of Kenneth and Ruth (Smith) Joanis in Kenosha, where his parents still reside.  George graduated from Tremper High School in Kenosha.  He went on to graduate from MATC and worked as an architectural technician.  George loved working with his hands in carpentry.  Along with carpentry his hobbies included camping, skiing, fishing on Lake Michigan with his father, cooking and being outside.  George married his wife, Leslie in 2002 and considered their cats and dogs as children.  He is survived by his wife, Leslie; his parents; and sister, Mary (Steve) of Evansville.  Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton with Rev. William Wineke officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.  Friends may greet the family from 10:30 AM until the time of service on Tuesday.
