MADISON/BROOKLYN - George A. Lane, age 91, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Born in Chicago to James and Elizabeth Lane, George grew up in the Wheaton/Glen Ellyn, Ill., area and served in the Army Air Corps during WWII.  He married Betty Jane Fortier on June 10, 1944.  George studied accounting at Loyola University, owned several businesses, and retired from Oscar Mayer. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Betty; son, George (Donna); and daughters, Joan Lemke (Ed), Margot Richardson (Bob), Judy Follett, Marcia Bentley and Elizabeth First (Doug).  George had 10 grandchildren, Christine, Ed, Beth, Scott, Matt, Kim, Paul, Will, Susi and Mary; and five great-grandchildren, Mason, Evan, Elizabeth, Jacy and Lane.  The youngest, Lane, was named in his honor.  He was preceded in death by sons, Dennis and Jimmy.  Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at BLESSED SACRAMENT PARISH, 2115 Rowley Ave. Madison, WI 53726.  A remembrance will begin at 11:15 a.m. and Mass at 11:30a.m.  Burial  will be on Monday, March 14, 2011, in Elgin, IL. The family thanks the outpatient Hospice team, caregivers James Massey and William First, and Katie, the ""Church Lady.""  In lieu of flowers, donations to a local food pantry or hospice would be appreciated.
