George Tincher “Van”, age 95, of Stoughton, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. George married Eileen on February 7, 1951 in Peoria, IL. Van served our country during WWII in the United States Navy; he was stationed in the Philippines in 1946. Van worked and retired from Graybar Electric after 38 years.
Van was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, very hard-working and had a kind soul. Family was very important to him; he enjoyed camping with his family and always looked forward to going to the Friday nights races with his grandchildren and friends. Van was big fan of the Packers and Badgers; never missing a game. In their spare time, Van and Eileen spent many hours refinishing furniture and restoring antiques for their beloved Victorian home.
George is survived by his loving wife, Eileen; children, Melanie (Daniel) Williams, Mark (Brenda) Tincher, Lynelle (David) Byrne, and the late Camille Tincher; grandchildren Wynne (Emily), Wesley (Megan), and Wade (Ashley) Williams, Nicholas (Aly) and Riley Tincher, Joel (Jamie), Beth (Bradley), and Brett Byrne, and Cody Tincher; great-grandchildren Stella and Colette Tincher and Liam and Cole Williams and Olivia Johnson; and brother Mike Nakken. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
There will be a memorial gathering for Van on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 206 W. Prospect St., Stoughton, from 10 am until the time of the memorial service at 12 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Van’s name may be made to Agrace Hospice ( https://www.agrace.org/donate ).
Van’s family would like to thank Agrace Hospice and Stoughton Hospital for all the wonderful care and compassion shown to us during this difficult time.
The lessons you taught and the help you gave us, will forever be missed.
