George E. Wood

    Madison/Janesville -- George E. Wood Jr., age 81 passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 1, 2009 .   He was born on August 27, 19 28 , the son of George E. and Georgia (Trotter) Wood Sr. George graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a masters in urban and regional planning and then began working for the State of Wisconsin until his retirement.   On August 27, 19 66 George was united in marriage to Frances Kostka at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.   His passion was classical and jazz music.   He was very knowledgeable when it came to music.   George is survived by his loving wife of 43 years; Fran Wood of Madison .   He is also survived by many other loving cousins, family and dear friends.     He was preceded in death by his parents.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Drive , Madison on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. with Monsignor Kenneth Fiedler officiating.   A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
