Waunakee-Gerald ""Jerry"" Frederick age 83 died on Sat May 21, 2011 at Middleton Village in Middleton following a long illness. He was born in Waunakee on Feb 4, 1928 to Mathew and Elizabeth (Meffert) Frederick. Jerry served in the Army during the Korean conflict. He married Gladys Schlimgen on Aug 5, 1961. He was employed at Endres Manufacturing for 31 years and more recently by Wisconsin Management Company and retired in 2010. Jerry loved growing vegetables; traveling; and enjoyed traveling. He was a lifelong member of St John's Catholic Church in Waunakee and the local Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife Gladys; two daughters Teresa Ripp of Waunakee, Marie Frederick of Chicago, two sons, Thomas (Christine) of Cambridge, and Charles ""Chuck"" of Waunakee; four grandchildren, Rose (fiancee Brian), Velda, Lucy and Henry; three sisters, Mary Ellen Acker, Antoinette (Walter) Laufenberg, Carrie Ann (Al) Zander, and two brothers David (Phyllis), and Jerome (Alice). He was preceded in death by his brother Dick and a sister Dora Rose.
Funeral services will be held on Wed. May 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St Johns Catholic Church in Waunakee, Msgr James Gunn and Rev Lance Schneider will con-celebrate the Mass. Friends may call at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home in Waunakee on Tues. May 24, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Wed. from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Resurrection Cemetery in Madison.
