Sun Prairie-Gerald James House, age 56, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the HospiceCare Center , Fitchburg . He was born on November 12, 1954 in Germany the son of Murry J. & Julia (Brown) House, Jr. James was raised in Sun Prairie and graduated from Sun Prairie High School Class of 1973 where he participated in track, Drama Club and played football. After high school James left Wisconsin for Colorado to work at Keystone Ski Resort for 14 years as a waiter, where he waited on Gerald Ford, Leslie Nielsen and Sigourney Weaver among others. Returning to Wisconsin he was then employed for numerous years as a waiter at Mountain Jack's East, Madison. He later received his Associate Degree from M.A.T.C. in the L.P.N. program and then was employed at St. Mary's Hospital, Sun Prairie Health Care Center, The Willows, and was currently employed with Opitons in Community Living. In his spare time, he loved spending time with his son, watching movies, going fishing, eating out and cooking. James is survived by his son, James Donovan House of Sun Prairie; his parents, Murry J. & Julia House, Jr., Sun Prairie; his sister, Marlise (Danny) McFarland, Minnesota; his brother, Rick (Bonnie) House, Sun Prairie; nieces and nephews, Monica, Shannon, Shanna (J.R.) and Derek (Sara); aunts, uncles and cousins. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 304 Woodward, Sun Prairie with Rev. Rick Bloom officiating. Family will greet friends on Thursday at the church from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service. The family would like to thank St. Mary's I.C.U., especially nurses Chris & Kathy and to the wonderful staff at HospiceCare, Inc. In lieu of flowers memorials to HospiceCare, inc. would be appreciated.
