Geraldine H Georgi

STOUGHTON / SUN PRAIRIE-      Geraldine H. Georgi, age 87, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 16, 2008. She was born January 25, 1920 in Milwaukee, WI a daughter of the late Arthur and Rose (Borowiak) Ennis. She was raised by her grandparents Pauline & Edward Hoffman after her mothers death at a young age. She graduated from Messer High School, Milwaukee. She married Walter Emil Georgi on February 6, 1937 together they raised 6 loving children. In 1949 they moved to Sun Prairie where they owned the Green Wood Tavern and later the Woods Tavern in Sun Prairie for 35 years. They sold their business and retired in 1984. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Stoughton, a 28 year member of the Daughters of the Nile Antioch Temple #113 of Madison, and she was also a member of the Daughters of the Spanish American War. Jerry loved to spend time with family and friends; she especially loved spoiling her grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, traveling with her family, going to the cottage in Mercer, and in later years feeding the birds and the companionship of Lola & GiGi the family dogs. Jerrys devotion to her loving family was always first and foremost in her mind and prayers. She is survived by: 6 children, Nancy Kemnitz, Oxford, MI; Walter Bud (Jan) Georgi, Jr., Mercer; Lynda (Tom) Viken, Cottage Grove; James (Carol) Georgi, Prairie du Sac; Sherry (Bill) Cress, Stoughton; Jackie (Rolf) Olson, Mt. Horeb;   14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren;   3 great great grandchildren; two half brothers Arthur & Edward Ennis, Milwaukee. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Jerome Ennis; her husband of 62 years Walter; a son-in-law James Kemnitz; a grandson, Jonah Cress; and a great granddaughter Cyndi Cloutier. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 21, 2008, at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church, 700 Cty Hwy B, Stoughton, WI with Reverend Scott Geister-Jones officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens after the lunch at the church. Friends may call at the funeral home in Sun Prairie from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday, January 20, 2008 and at the church from 10:00 am until time of services. If friends so desire memorials may be made to: Christ Lutheran Church in Stoughton; The Shriners Childrens Hospitals; or UW Hospitals. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and a friend to many.
