MADISON- Gladys J. Beaupre, age 87, passed away Monday, November 10, 2008, surrounded by her family at her home. She was born March 19, 1921 in Faribault, Minnesota, the eldest daughter of John and Emma (Lee) Dusek. Gladys graduated from Faribault High School where she was the Homecoming Queen. She later married the captain of the football team, Robert W. Beaupre on December 21, 1945, after he returned from serving in the Coast Guard during WWII. Gladys was an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading mysteries. She was in a gourmet cooking club and was a wonderful cook. She took great joy in celebrating the holidays with her family. Gladys also enjoyed quilting, rosemaling and playing bridge. She is survived by her children: Mark (Carol) Beaupre, Sandy (Tom Walker) Beaupre and Steve (Terri Davis) Beaupre; grandchildren: Nick, Maggie, Stephanie and Jason; great grandchildren: Fisher, Aida and Sky; brother, John Dusek and sister, Barb (Ron) Nelson. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Beaupre; sister, Dorothy Eiler and brother, Bob Dusek. The family would like to thank the staff at Sebring Assisted Care, especially Pat, Bethany and Sandy; and also the HospiceCare staff, especially Sherri. A private burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare Foundation, Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711.
