Glenn Hagen

Pleasant Springs- Glenn W. Hagen, age 79, went to be with his Savior and Lord on Thursday, July 4, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 18, 1933, the son of Palmer and Ellen Hagen. Glenn attended the Western Koshkonong Lutheran Day School and graduated from Stoughton High School. He had a love of sports, something he excelled at in high school, and that brought him joy throughout his life. Most recently, he enjoyed golf leagues and tournaments. Glenn, known as "The Utica Farmer," lived on the family farm all of his life. His passion was farming and his specialty was growing tobacco. Later in life, he became a buyer. He could start a conversation with anyone and had a wonderful sense of humor. Glenn was a mentor to family and friends and had compassion for others. Whether their problems were great or small, Glenn had a gift for helping them find their path in life. He was an active life member of Western Koshkonong Lutheran Church. Glenn is survived by his wife, Lois; son, Dr. Patrick Hagen; daughter, Heidi (Troy) Hubing; step-children, Susan (Bill) Skinner, Mark Hansen, Sharon (Steve) Castleberg, Annette (Steve) Bauer and Dean (Carmen) Hansen; 19 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and sister, Naomi (Jerry) Brandt. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-daughter, JoAnn Hansen; step-grandson, Jason Bauer; and sister, ElDoris DuPaul. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 8, 2013 at Western Koshkonong Lutheran Church, 2633 Church Street, Cottage Grove. Burial will follow in Western Koshkonong Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, immediately following the burial, in the church fellowship hall. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the WI Amputee Golf Association Inc., 512 13th Ave, Nekoosa, WI 54457, or to Agrace HospiceCare Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI, 53715.
