Waunakee/ Madison-Glenn Earl Henry age 86, passed away suddenly at his home on Thurs.. Nov 4, 2010. Glenn was born in Beetown,WI on Nov 6, 1923 to Earl and Gladys Pearl (Lewis) Henry. He served in the military during World War II in the 34th Bombardier Squadron in the 8th Air Corps. His service was honored with a legacy stone at HighGround near Neilsville, WI. Glenn married Catherine (Kay) Clark in 1952 and she preceded him in death in 1992. Glenn married Vera Hottman Pokorny of Middleton in l996 and she preceded him in death in 2007. Glenn's career as an accountant included many years at the Swift Co., Mason City, Iowa and laterat ABS in DeForest, WI. He delivered cars part time for Zimbrick Buick in Madison after he retired and up until his death. Glenn was an easy going, gentle, caring and kind man. He loved to drive, travel, golf, keep things organized, and ride his many bicycles. He enjoyed having a cold beer with many friends who gathered for happy hour every Thursday. He joined past colleagues and comrades who met yearly for reunions at various locations all over the U.S. Glenn was a member of the Madison Elks Lodge 410 and the Middleton VFW Post 8216, where he volunteered his accounting and lawn care skills for many years.  He had many family members who loved and admired him. He is survived by his nieces and nephews; Christine Perry, Rosealee Morrow,Penny Skaife, Janis Blackbourn, Jackie Settle, his god-daughter Sue Kastner, Leo Skaife, and Danny Skaife, his step children: Ronald (Marge) Hottman, Ross (Judy) Hottman, Karen (Ed) Kirk, Kay (Steve) Eatough,  nine step-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, three sisters, Marjorie Klass, Thelma Blackbourn, Pearl Skaife, two brothers Earl Henry and Leo Henry and two nephews Peter Skaife and Jim Blackbourn. His step family is so greatful for the companionship and quality of life he gave their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother during the last eleven years of her life. Glenn will be sadly missed by all that knew him. A memorial service will be held at St John's Catholic Church, 209 South St Waunakee on Sat. Nov 13, 2010 at 11:00a.m. Msgr. James Gunn and Msgr. Don Heiar will preside. Friends may call at the church on Sat from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place a 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memory Gardens, 7302 Mineral Point Rd., Madison. Â
