Gordon Charles Thomas

SUN PRAIRIE THOMAS, GORDON C. Gordon C. Thomas, age 83, died Monday, April 27, 2009 in a Madison hospital.  He was born July 9, 1925 in Waukegan, IL, the son of Claire and Myrtle (LaMoine) Thomas.  Prior to his retirement in 1984, Gordon spent 35 years teaching and coaching in Lake Villa, Round Lake and the Mundelein Illinois schools.  He was a veteran of WW II having served in the US Army Air Corps.  On December 22, 1951, Gordon was united in marriage with Phyllis Covert in Mundelein, IL. Gordon's passions included farming, baseball, the North Woods, the Rocky Mountains, astronomy, long rides in the country, but above all, his family and friends.     In addition to his wife Phyllis, survivors include a son Eric Leslie (Sue) Thomas of Sun Prairie; a daughter Tina Marie (Bob) Kellogg of CO; 4 grandchildren: Kelly, Chris, Kelsey and Katie and 3 great grandchildren: Kodiak, Skylah and Lilli.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
