Gregory L. Weidephul

Gregory L. Weidephul, age 76, of Sun Prairie passed away at home surrounded by loved ones after a short battle with cancer. He is the son of Theodore and Alice (Flitter) Weidephul and was born July 10th 1933 in Morgan Township, Indiana. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Heiman on November 19th 1971. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Weidephul; eight children, Glenn Vernig, Richard Vernig, Ken Vernig, Sandy (Jim) Elifritz, Donna Vernig, Jeff Vernig, Mike Vernig and Kathy (Weidephul) York; seven grandchildren, Kraig, Jaret, Annie, Carly, Melady, Trevor and Kaden; and one sister Carol (Henry) Jowett. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Julia and Roseann, and his beloved dog C.C. Lamone. His family would like to thank all of the many wonderful people that helped during his difficult journey with cancer. Along with his doctors and nurses at UW Health, the doctors and nurses at Meriter Hospital, the nurses and therapists at Oak Park Nursing Home, and the angels of Hospice.  A time of gathering will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Cress Funeral Home, Sun Prairie.
