Gregory Werner

Gregory Alan Werner, 47, of Waunakee, WI, passed away on April 17, 2012, after a long and courageous battle against cancer. He was born on February 20, 1965, in Joliet, IL, the son of William and Penny Werner of Fond du Lac, WI.
He was a graduate of St. Mary's Springs High School in Fond du Lac, WI, and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. On October 14, 1995, he married his beloved wife, Theresa Quenstedt in Atlanta, GA.
Greg was an insurance adjuster for State Farm Insurance in Atlanta and transferred to Madison Wisconsin. He was later employed by American Family Insurance Company as a Claims Policy and Procedures Administrator.
Greg had a zest for life and lived it to its fullest. His energy, humor and laughter were infectious and drew people in. He lived his passions in everything he did. Having a love for sports, he coached youth hockey and youth baseball, and was a natural mentor to children.
He was devoted to his family and will be dearly missed by his wife and parents, his daughter Jessica and son Jeremy, both at home. He is further survived by his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Werner of Cody, Wyoming, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 24, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 Hwy Q, Waunakee, Chaplain Linda O'Leary will preside. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
