Gwynne Lehr

September 8, 1955 — May 25, 2015

Madison - Gwynne L. Lehr (nee Mugge) age 59, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015. She was born on September 8, 1955 in LeMars, Iowa. In 1977, Gwynne graduated from Iowa State University. After college, she enjoyed a successful career in advertising in Los Angeles. On February 9, 1987, Gwynne went on her first date with Bill Lehr. They soon fell in love and had their first child, Lucas, on November 19, 1988. A year later, little Lucas happily announced to the world the wedding of Gwynne and Bill that would take place on February 9, 1990, exactly three years after their first date. On September 29, 1991 the family welcomed their daughter, Holly, into the world. Gwynne devoted her life to raising her children alongside Bill with unconditional love and affection. Her work ethic was unrivaled, and her energy was boundless. Gwynne humbly balanced a dynamic career and a busy family life, accomplishing every task with pride in her excellence. She enjoyed spending all of her free time kicking soccer balls and shooting hoops with Lucas, coaching Holly's soccer team, delving into various creative projects, going to movies, gardening, baking, planning parties, and playing the piano beautifully for her family. In 2002 the family moved to Madison where she was happy to be closer to her sister, Karen. She spent her remaining thirteen years enjoying her wonderful children as they reached adulthood, helping Karen raise her children, and being the life of the party.

Gwynne is survived by her husband of 25 years, Bill Lehr, her son Lucas, her daughter Holly, her parents Max and Lorene Mugge, sisters Karen (Andy) Grimmer, Beth (Eckart) Meiburg, brothers Brian (Carol) Mugge, Grant (Lisa) Mugge, Curt (Debbie) Mugge, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
