Hannah M. Naughton, 37, passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 1, 2023. She was a brilliant shining light and will be missed by family and many friends.
Hannah is survived by her parents, Alex and Kathleen Naughton; her sister Claire Naughton; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents and her sister Prajnya “Polly” Naughton; and several significant others and dear friends.
Hannah attended West High School and Malcolm Shabazz City High School. Following high school, she traveled extensively across the U.S., stopping to live briefly in many communities. In recent years she returned to Madison and worked as a stagehand.
Her parents would like to thank her roommates and other friends over the years who showed kindness and love to Hannah. She was extremely bright and talented in many ways, art and cooking among them.
If relatives or friends would like, memorials can be made to the agency of your choice. Hannah was particularly concerned with issues of substance abuse, homelessness, feminist causes, and mental illness.
A memorial gathering will be held February 24, 2024 from 1-3 pm at Goodman Community Center, 214 Waubesa Street, Madison. Friends and family are invited.
