Harland H Henning

Harland H. Henning, age 90, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2008.   He was born November 14, 1918, the son of Albert and Jennie (Sutcliffe) Henning.   Harland served his country and his fellow man in the United States Army during WWII.    Harland was united in marriage to Violet ""Vi"" Hofrichter on August 1, 1948, and they lived in Madison.   He was employed as a salesman, and later as a co-owner at Lumberman's Supply in Madison.   Harland enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling.   He was always known to lend a helping hand to his family, friends and neighbors.   He was also a lover of animals, especially the family dogs.  Harland is survived by his three daughters; Jody (Mike) Czinsky, Carol (fiance Curt Williams) Henning, and Cheryl (Terry) Grunke, three grandchildren; Jenni, Melissa, and Garrett; a brother, Harold Henning, nieces and nephews, and his ""grand dogs.""   He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; ""Vi,"" two brothers; Homer and Herb, and a grandson; Shane.   A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, on Monday, December 29, 2008 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Rd, Madison.   A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Rd., Madison, with visitation from 1:00 pm until the time of service.   In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, or the charity of ones choice.
