Harland H. Henning, age 90, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2008. Â He was born November 14, 1918, the son of Albert and Jennie (Sutcliffe) Henning. Â Harland served his country and his fellow man in the United States Army during WWII. Â Â Harland was united in marriage to Violet ""Vi"" Hofrichter on August 1, 1948, and they lived in Madison. Â He was employed as a salesman, and later as a co-owner at Lumberman's Supply in Madison. Â Harland enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling. Â He was always known to lend a helping hand to his family, friends and neighbors. Â He was also a lover of animals, especially the family dogs. Â Harland is survived by his three daughters; Jody (Mike) Czinsky, Carol (fiance Curt Williams) Henning, and Cheryl (Terry) Grunke, three grandchildren; Jenni, Melissa, and Garrett; a brother, Harold Henning, nieces and nephews, and his ""grand dogs."" Â He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; ""Vi,"" two brothers; Homer and Herb, and a grandson; Shane. Â A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, on Monday, December 29, 2008 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Rd, Madison. Â A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Rd., Madison, with visitation from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Â In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, or the charity of ones choice. Â
