Harold Paar

Waunakee - Harold Paar, age 81, died peacefully at home on Monday Dec 5, 2011 surrounded by his family. He was born on April 8, 1930 in Madison to Lawrence and Elsie (Marking) Paar . He married the former Doris Schwoegler and they lived in Waunakee for the past forty-seven years. Harold was an avid Packer and Badger fan. His children remember him taking them to get players autographs when the Packers would come to Madison. He also loved to play cards including; euchre, dirty clubs, and solo and trying to win a quarter in the game of Trouble. He was known in his younger years for entertaining at parties by playing the accordion. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren. He worked for many years as a window fashion installer. He was a longtime member of St John's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife Doris; three children Steve (Carol), Sue Paar, and Sandy (Chris) Neumaier; four grandchildren Christopher Neumaier, Josh Paar, Stacy Paar (fianc�e Josh Voight) Jenny (Luke) Gondesk and a great-grandson Jack (on the way). He was preceded in death by his son Larry and a sister Marilyn Guitzkow.
Funeral services will be held on Sat. Dec. 10, 2011 at 12:00 noon at St John's Catholic Church 209 South St Waunakee. Friends may call at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home on Fri. Dec 9, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Sat from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.
The family wishes to thank the staff and Doctors at the Carbone Cancer Center, the in home nurses from Agrace HospiceCare and the UW Hospital and Clinics for their care of Harold.
