Harold R. Siekert died on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Sebring Assisted Living in Madison, Wisconsin.
He was born at the home of his parents, Ernest and Linda (Baerwald) Siekert, in the town of Wellington, Monroe County, Wisconsin, on August 18, 1928. Harold graduated from Kendall High School in 1946. He then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army, Construction Engineers, during the Korean War and was honorable discharged in 1953. In 1959, he married Susan Perling of Wisconsin Rapids.
Harold became a certified public accountant in 1963. He was a member of the Wisconsin CPA organization for over 50 years. He retired from the Nordic Group of Companies in 1996.
Harold was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison for over 55 years. He was a member of the Madison West Rotary Club. Harold enjoyed growing roses and gardening. He enjoyed golfing and bowling with Madison area seniors.
Harold is survived by his wife of 64 years, Susan; two sons, Rand (Linda) of Tucson, AZ and Scott of St. Louis MO; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Martin; and sisters, LaVern Zuhlke and Caroline Braund.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the Cress Center, 6021 University Ave., Madison. Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will follow. Burial will take place privately in Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison.
