Oregon- Harriet E. Schneider, age 93 passed away at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Dunn Township on Tuesday, January 13, 2009. She was born in the Town of Rutland on May 17, 1915, a daughter of Eugene and Belle (Cline) Ellis, and graduated from Evansville High School. On February 1, 1934, she was united in marriage to Milo Schneider in Oregon, Illinois. She worked and lived on the Schneider Homestead until the fall of 2005, when she came to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Harriet was active in her community Women's Club and was once the president of the Oakside Mother's Club. She was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed playing cards with friends and relatives, and watching wrestling. She enjoyed travelling with Milo on tours to many states and fishing in Northern Wisconsin. She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (John) Severson; and her nieces and nephews, Ed (Doris) Weeden, Kim (Jim) Richards, Jim (Betty) Manson, Marjorie Beers, Frank (Claris) Huehne, Stanley (Kathy) Schneider, Jim (Barbara) Schneider, Jana Schneider, Robert (Sherrie) Quam, Don (Linda) Quam, and Carol Quam. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milo; her son, Eugene; and her sister and brother-in-law, Virgene and Ed Weeden. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 2:30 pm First Presbyterian Church, 172 N. Main St., Oregon, with the Rev. Clara Thompson officiating. Private burial will take place at Prairie Mound Cemetery, Oregon. A visitation will be held at church on Sunday from 1pm until the time of service. Thanks to all the friends and relatives for their kindness and caregiving for Harriet over these last years.
