FITCHBURG- Hazel D. Edwards, age 77, passed away Monday, June 22, 2009. She was born August 8, 1931, in Glen Haven, WI, to parents Albert and Eliza Beemer. She married Max Edwards on August 16, 1949. Hazel worked at Dubuque John Deere Works. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Daughter of the Nile and the Red Hat Society. Hazel was Worthy Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star, Past Worthy High Priestess of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Commander of the Order of the True Kindred, past Queen of the Daughters of the Nile and also a member of the Bosiant. Hazel is survived by nephews, Eugene (Betty) Clifton of Rockford, IL and John Edwards of Odenton, MD; nieces, Sandra (Burnett) Hefty of Madison and Kathy Edwards of Odenton, MD; cousin, Charles Beemer of Mitchell, SD; and special friend, Warren Krueger of Milwaukee. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Max. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, with a funeral service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in the Brodtville Cemetery in Grant County. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to any of Hazel's favorite charities.
