Stoughton- Hazel E. Moe, age 90, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011. She was born on September 9, 1920 in LaFayette County to the late Elmer and Hannah Hanson. Hazel was baptized in East Wiota Lutheran Church and confirmed in Our Saviors Church in Stoughton . She was a member of First Lutheran Church . On February 19, 1938 she was married to Edmund Moe. Together they farmed in the Stoughton and Evansville area until retiring to Stoughton in 1977. Hazel was also employed at Stoughton Hospital for 25 years until retiring in 1987. In later years she worked at Fox Prairie School . Hazel's main hobby was quilting and she was very devoted to her family. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Judy Moe of Janesville; grandson, Jason (Angela) Moe; granddaughter, Jennifer Moe; great granddaughter, Holly Moe; great grandson, Edmund Moe; two sisters, A. Lorraine Ellis of Stoughton and Patricia (Rodney) Wilberg of Janesville; and many nieces and nephews. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edmund, on October 4, 1991; son, Roger, on August 18, 2009; two brothers, Clifford and Martin Hanson; and an infant sister. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 11, 2011 at First Lutheran Church in Stoughton , with Rev. Richard Halom officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon immediately following the service. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services Friday. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery . A special thanks to Earleen and Lorraine, and to Kelly at the Stoughton Senior Center, for all they have done for Hazel.
