Heather Nan' McCarthy

Heather P.'Nan' McCarthy, age 93, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Stoughton Hospital.   She was born in England on October 16, 1916, a daughter of Alfred Edward and Ivy Ellen (Fryegg) Watkins.   Heather worked as a nurse in the Village of Eye in Suffolk, where she met her husband Florence Robert McCarthy during his service in WWII.   They were united in marriage on June 20, 1944.   Heather served the geriatric community, running McCarthy nursing Home for 20 years.   She received commendations from families and from the county for her service.   Heather was a hard worker, and always a care giver.   She will be dearly missed by her family.   She is survived by 3 sons, Charles, Jon and Mike (Colleen Huberd) McCarthy; grandchildren, Sean and Alyssa McCarthy, and many nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Florence Robert McCarthy in 1999; and by a daughter, Pat McCarthy in 1986.   A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. Ann Catholic Church, 323 N. Van Buren, Stoughton, with Monsignor Gerard Healy officiating.   Burial will follow at St. Ann's Cemetery, Stoughton.   The family will greet friends at church on Monday from 10:00am until the time of service.
