Madison - Â Helen M. Hoebel, age 91, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2010, with her family by her side at the HospiceCare Facility. Â Helen was born on September 10, 1918 in Madison, the daughter of Steven and Ellen (Murley) Moni. Â She grew up on the east side graduating from Madison East High School in 1936. After graduation she worked as a switchboard operator with Wisconsin Telephone for several years. On July 2, 1942 Helen was united in marriage to Jack Hoebel and together they raised two sons in a comfortable house in Sunset Village on Madison's west side. After Jack retired, they sold their Madison house and moved to West Palm Beach, Florida. However, she found that she missed her family and newly arriving grandchildren so after 4 years in Florida, they moved back to Madison. She was a kind and loving wife and mother. Helen's great sense of humor and young spirit brought joy to everyone she met. She liked to wear brightly colored bead necklaces and would not leave the house without one. Â Helen enjoyed her stay at Willow Pointe Assisted Living Facility the past year and one half and enjoyed talking with the residents and staff. Â She is survived by her two sons; Bill (Diane) Hoebel of Fitchburg and Richard (Florette) Hoebel of Verona, five grandchildren; Andrea Esser of Cross Plains, Scott (Christine) Hoebel of Cross Plains, Candice (Kenneth) Duffek of Sun Prairie, Lindsay Hoebel of Milwaukee, and Stacey Hoebel of Chicago, four great grandchildren; Zachary and Tyler Esser, Mackenzie Heinz and Emily Duffek. Â She is also survived by other loving family and friends. Â Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack in 1987 and a special friend, Ted Bast. A memorial celebration will be held at the HOSPICECARE FACILITY, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison on Saturday, May 29, 2010 between 1 pm and 3pm. Private graveside services were held at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Â In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Helen to the HospiceCare Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711 or to the charity of one's choice. Â The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Willow Pointe Assisted Living and the staff at HospiceCare, especially nurses, Ellen and Lisa for all their care and compassion given to Helen and our family.
