Cottage Grove/Stoughton- Helen A. Link, age 85, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 5, 2011. She was born in Prairie du Sac on November 7, 1925, the only child of Louis and Eunice (Smith) Frese. Helen graduated from Stoughton High School. On February 10, 1946 she married Kervyn Link. Together they farmed in the Cottage Grove area and later owned and operated Alpenrose Dairy and Cheese Store for many years. Helen had a love of the land and always maintained a large garden. She enjoyed sharing the extra harvest with family, friends and neighbors. Helen loved spending time with her children and their families, and was always ready to help when new babies came along. It's difficult to find any photo of Helen without a grandchild in her arms and a big smile on her face. She was a member of Lakeview Evangelical Church. Helen is survived by six children, Steven (Colette), Barbara (Ken) Bricker, Margaret (Jack) Howley, Eunice (Jeff) Boulet, Jim (Linda) and John (Melody); 21 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her son, Frederick. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Assoc., 1 Billy Graham PKWY, Charlotte, NC, 28201.
