Herman S. Kinney

  Herman S. Kinney, age 88, died on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, Wisconsin. Herman was born in 1921 in Michigan. Herman was raised in Indiana, and also lived in Beloit, Illinois. He moved to Madison, Wisconsin in 1948 when he met and married Doris Barlow and raised their family. Herman served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In 1953, he began working as a crane operator at Madison Gisholt Machine Co., and in 1983 retired after working 30 years. Herm lived at Quaker Housing in Madison for 25 years. Herman is survived by his children; Pia Kinney James(David Hendrix), Bart (Maria) Kinney, Tanya Kinney, Brett (Donna) Kinney, and   Kritia (Anthony) Humphries; grandchildren, Lietta + Michelle James, Marlita Arnold-Kinney, Bryce, Aryn, + Brenna Kinney, Tianna + Malia Humphries; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Taylor Sylvester, Jalen James-Patterson, Bria James, Jordan + Devin Parks; brothers, Alfred (Jessie) Kinney, + Irvin (Sutz Fei) Kinney; sister, Joan (Harry) LaPlante; and several nieces and nephews.   He was proceeded in death by his parents; son, Kevin Kinney; great-grandson, Michael Sylvester; brothers, Olan Kinney, and Eugene Kinney; sisters, Louise (Martin) White and Evelyn (Dee) Gilliam; pets, Jigs and Cleo.
