Howard Genson

Howard Roland Genson, a devoted husband and father, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 14, 2016 at age 86. He was born on July 13, 1930 in Chicago, IL to the late Roland and Dorothy Genson. He married Myrna Wentorf in Two Rivers on July 26, 1958.

Howard was a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation - District 1 for 38 years until his retirement.

Howard and Myrna loved to travel. They took the family on camping trips to visit many parts of the country. He was an avid gardener and past member of the Orchard Ridge Neighborhood Garden Club with a special fondness for orchids. He was also involved in YMCA water exercise class for many years.

Howard is survived by sons, David (Lisa J.) of Fitchburg, Robert of Madison, and Paul (Lisa A.) of Cross Plains; grandkids, Elizabeth (Brad) Petroff, Ryan, and Michael; two great-grandsons; and sister, Sharon Stiller.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Myrna.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5701 Raymond Road, Madison with Reverend Chris Enstad officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to service. A reception will follow the service. Private burial will be held Monday at Forest Hill Cemetery.
