Howard L. Peterson

STOUGHTON- Howard L. Peterson, age 95, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025. He was born on December 1, 1929 in Grace Township in Chippewa County, Minnesota, the 6th child of Hans and Anna (Hillestad) Peterson. Howard went on to serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Howard married Jeannette Maxine Reich on August 22, 1959 at Layton Park English Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI.

After graduation from Milton College, Howard maintained a successful career in education as a teacher. He also shared his talents in real estate, sales, and golf course maintenance.

Howard is survived by his children: Jeff (Kristin), Laura (Bob) Klitzke, and Ted (Julia); grandchildren: Chelsea (Kyle) Drouin, Brandon Klitzke, Tanner (fiancée Alyssa Nuon) Klitzke, Kelli (James) Nachtigal, TJ (Hannah) Peterson; Emma, Casey, Tucker, and Shad Peterson; and great-grandchildren: Owen Klitzke, Brooklyn and Sawyer Drouin, and Audrey Peterson. He is further survived by his sister Janet Whaley and many loved nieces and nephews and friends.

Howard was preceded in death by his wife Jean; grandson Nicholas; and siblings: Herbert, Irene Larson, Violet Osland, and Merle Peterson.

The family wishes to thank the entire Nazareth Health and Rehab caring staff (especially Savannah) and the Agrace Hospice team (especially Lexee Rear who gave their dad and entire family two years of compassion and friendship while in her care.

Visitation will be from 10-12:00 pm (noon) on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Cress Funeral Service STOUGHTON with a memorial service to follow at noon. Memorials are appreciated to the Stoughton VFW or Agrace Hospice Care.
