Stoughton- Ingeborg "Inky" Elvekrog, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Skaalen Home in Stoughton. She was born in Stoughton on June 30, 1919, the daughter of Gilman and Nora (Hougan) Kaupanger. Inky was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church. She married Henry Elvekrog on March 20, 1943 in Stoughton. Together they farmed in the rural Stoughton area and were members of First Lutheran Church. Inky was very active in Circle 17 of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed volunteering for the Stoughton Hospital Auxiliary and spending time with her family and many friends. She is survived by her sons, James (Jean) Elvekrog of Waunakee and John (Nancy) Elvekrog of Stoughton; daughter, Mary Elvekrog of Sun Prairie; three granddaughters, Anne Marie (Tim) Jarmuz and Margaret and Liz Elvekrog; three sisters-in-law, Anna Schulz and Pearl and Clarice Elvekrog; brother-in-law, Donald Visaas; and nieces and nephews. Inky was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; an infant grandson, C.J.; and brothers, Halvor (Janet) and Orin (Irene) Kaupanger. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Skaalen Home Chapel, 400 N. Morris Street, Stoughton, with Rev. James Koza and Rev. Richard Halom officiating. (Please be advised there is road construction on Main Street and surrounding Skaalen Home). Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, September 9, 2011 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton and from 10:00 AM until the time of services Saturday at Skaalen Home.
