Ione Johnson

Stoughton- Ione M. Johnson, age 88, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Skaalen Home. She was born in Stoughton on August 28, 1923 the daughter of Norwegian Immigrant Ole Offerdahl and Lena Limberg Offerdahl. Ione graduated from Stoughton High School. She worked at Highway Trailers. On October 19, 1946 Ione married Earl N. Johnson. Together they farmed and enjoyed Square Dancing. Ione was an active member of Western Koshkonong Lutheran Church and was involved in Circle, and Mother clubs. She is survived by her sons, Dale (Janice) of Fontana and Larry (Beth) of Stoughton; four grandchildren, Eric (Shelia Lintott), Mark, Sarah (Jamie) Sickles and Daniel; four great grandchildren, Sonja, Jack, Kailyn and Brady; and dear friend, Betty Amundson. Ione was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; daughter-in-law, Donna; and brother, Obie. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 27, 2012 at Western Koshkonong Lutheran Church, 2633 Church Street, with Rev. Thomas Heyn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon immediately following the burial in the church fellowship hall. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, and from 10:00 AM until the time of services at church on Friday. Memorials may be made to the church. A special thank you to Skaalen Home and Stoughton Hospital.
