Madison -- Irene M. Bahr, age 86, passed away Monday, June 28, 2010 at Sunny Hill Health Care Center. Irene was born on May 15, 1924 in Madison to Ralph and Florence (Olson) Judd. She began her working career with Skelly Oil Company as an office clerk. She then waitressed at Namio's on Park Street until she retired. Irene was a 25 year member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed volunteering, cooking, baking and knitting. She was an avid bowler and fierce yatzee player. Irene is survived by her son, Ray Ketner (Sandy) of Madison; daughter, Jeanne Briggs of Madison; two grandsons, Jeff Ketner (Ceci) of Madison and Camron Briggs (Andrea) of Arlington, Tennessee; one granddaughter, Loree Nelson (Andrew) of Madison; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron E. Bahr; her parents; and her brothers, Robert Judd and Ralph Judd, Jr. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 12, 2010 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service. The family sends a special thank you to the staff at Sunny Hill and HospiceCare Inc. for the care and support they provided for Irene. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to HospiceCare Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711.
