Irene Cline

Madison -- Irene Cline, age 89, died on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. She was born on February 7, 1921 to George and Rosa Snyder in Indiana. Irene was proud of her many years as a teacher. She appreciated the outdoors, enjoying nature and hiking, and completing the Appalachian Trail, Ice Age Trail, most of the Pacific Crest Trail, and various trails around Europe. Irene was an active volunteer with the Ice Age Trail Alliance. She enjoyed traveling, especially cruises, card games and was an avid bridge player. Irene is survived by her son, Donald (Anne) Cline; daughter, Dora (Thomas) Coyne; grandchildren, Christine (Yung) Cline-Leung and Laura (Bill) Maher; brother, George (Delores) Snyder; sister, Sharon (John) Bloodgood; many nieces and nephews; and several close friends who enjoyed her special interests. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Cline; and a brother, Paul Snyder. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
