Irene Henneman

Mauston/Sun Prairie - Irene Henneman, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Mile Bluff Medical Center in Mauston. She was born on September 3, 1925 in Madison, the daughter of Oscar and Emma (Weigen) Tjugum.
Irene was a 1944 graduate of Sun Prairie High School, and employed by Oscar Mayer for almost 40 years, until 1985. She was married for 56 years to Erwin Henneman.
She enjoyed life to the fullest while taking loving care of her kids. Her favorite activities were dancing, making crochet dolls, playing cards, camping, and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Erwin "Ed" Henneman; her children, Gary (Peggy) Ness, Jeanne (Larry) Menzel, Sandra (Lucio Lanza) Henneman and Rodney Henneman; grandchildren: Tammy (Jon) Denman, Travis (Nancy) Ness, Tyler Ness, Trey (Debbie) Ness, Tanner Ness, Tim (Katie) Menzel, Todd (Christie) Menzel, Saasha (Russell) Stanton and Shane Costello; great grandchildren: Logan, Hayden, Zack, Kaitlin, Cody, Carly, Breah, Derek, and Silas; a sister: Jean (Jerry) McGovern; brothers: LaVerne (Beverly) Tjugum and Delano (Leona) Tjugum, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Arthur Ness, brothers: Denver, Marmon, Oscar Jr., and Curtis, and sisters: Fern and Violet.

Funeral services will be held at OUR SAVIOR'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 550 Lincoln Drive, Sun Prairie, on Monday, January 5, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Julie Krahn officiating. Burial will follow at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens in Sun Prairie. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A lunch will be held afterwards.
