Irene Kummerow

Baraboo- Irene Kraus Kummerow passed away on April 20, 2015 at the age of 95. She was born on a farm three miles outside of Muscoda. She attended St. John's Catholic School through 8th grade. Then Muscoda High School through her senior year.
Following this, she enrolled in the St. Mary's Hopsital Nursing Program to become a registered nurse, which she successfully accomplished. Then after graduating from there in 1941, she worked at St. Mary's Hospital, Golden Age Nursing Home, Karmenta Health Care Center, and Rosemary Rest Home.
In 1945, she married Werner Kummerow and unto them were born three sons- Richard (Justine) of Mosinee, John (Joy) of Madison, and Ronald of Milwaukee. They all survive her including two granddaughters: Shannon Gross and Stacy Lynn all of Sun Prairie and two great granddaughters of Sun Prairie: Lillianna and Lydia Gross.
Services will be held Friday April 24, 2014 at Highland Memory Gardens Chapel 3054 Hwy BB
