Irma Krogstad

November 23, 1926 — February 25, 2017

Irma B. (Sorensen) Krogstad, age 90 passed away peacefully Saturday, February 25, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Red Wing, Minnesota on November 23, 1926 to the late Frederick and Lillian Sorensen.

She was a longtime member of Bethany United Methodist Church. While raising four sons, consumed most of her time, she was extremely involved in church, enjoying music while singing in the choir for 50 years.

Irma's family was her entire world. She enjoyed participating in her kids and grandkids lives including attending their many sporting events. They continuously made her proud.

Rollie and Irma were avid travelers and Badger fans. They enjoyed camping, taking cruises, attending sporting events, including several Badger Bowl games. Over their years of traveling, they managed to visit all 50 State Capitals and almost all Wisconsin State Parks. Rollie and Irma also enjoyed working on genealogy and family history.

Irma leaves behind her loving husband of 69 years, Roland; sons, James (Jill), Gary (Laura), Ronald (Karen), and Kevin (Jane); grandchildren, Amy, Matt, Katy, Andy (fiancée Courtney), Kristina (Kaleb) and Alena; step-grandchildren, Kyle (Stephanie), Sara (Doug), Eric, and Ryan; her one and only great-grandchild, Elisha; sister Lois Sargent; and brother Norman Sorensen.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Pamela.

The family extends a special thank you to the staffs of Agrace HospiceCare, Capitol Lakes, and Brookdale Assisted Living for the wonderful care given to Irma.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Bethany United Methodist Church, 3910 Mineral Point Road, Madison with Reverend Brad Mather officiating. Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A reception will follow the service. Burial will take place at a later date in Hartland Methodist Church Cemetery in Pierce County, Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church Choir, or Agrace HospiceCare, Inc.
