Stoughton- Irmgard Helene Nissler (nee Dohnt), age 98, died Tuesday October 18, 2011. She was born December 29th, 1912 in Germany. In May 1938, she emigrated to America on the ship Bremen and lived in Chicago. On January 24th, 1948, she married Karl G. Nissler, and they together operated the Nissler Greenhouses until May 1976 when her husband passed away. In 1977, she sold the business and then did extensive traveling. She was a member of Covenant Lutheran Church, always enjoying her friends in the quilting group. She was also a lifelong member of the Stoughton Senior Citizen Center and the Weekender Social Club. We will all miss grandma's traditional German Christmas Eve dinners, chocolate chip cookies, hand knit washcloths and afghans. Grandma always gave us strength in our everyday lives.
