Stoughton- Irving R. Thompson, age 85, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009 at his home. Â Irv was born January 23, 1923 to Albert and Ella (Gullickson) Thompson. Â Irving served in World War II, in the Army, honorably discharged in 1945. Â Irving was united in marriage with Maxine Maves of Edgerton on October 25, 1947. Â He worked at Badger Petroleum of McFarland as a fuel truck driver. Â He later managed McFarland Tank farms, from start to present which is currently CHS Pipeline Terminal. Â Irv is survived by his wife, Maxine; daughter, Teresa (Dan) Pirkl of Stoughton; two grandsons, Derek and Geoffrey, both of Stoughton; his sisters, Virginia Harrison, Lorraine (Carl) Dryeson, Dorothy (Fred) Schumann and sister-in-law, Mary Thompson. Â He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Arnold. Â Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 13, 2008 at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton. Â Friends may greet the family from 9:30 AM until the time of services Tuesday. Â Private entombment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park. Â In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to HospiceCare Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI, 53711. Â The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Hospice for their wonderful care of Irving.
