Irvy was an avid hunter, sailor, snowmobiler and car enthusiast.  He was a member of Kegonsa Masonic Lodge and Stoughton American Legion Post 59.  He was a supporter of Stoughton Senior Center projects helping to build the woodshop and restoration of Stoughton Opera House.
