H. Isabelle Peterson, age 82, passed away on Sunday, January 03, 2010 at Skaalen Home in Stoughton. Â She was born in Sarasota Florida on January 9, 1927, a daughter of Lawrence and Helen (Overn) Wene. Â Isabelle graduated from Stoughton High School and was the valedictorian of her class. Â On September 8, 1946, she was united in marriage to Herbert Peterson. Â Isabelle loved her work as registrar at the UW Madison Medical School, where she was adored by the students and where a room and a scholarship were dedicated in her name. Â From 1967 to 1999, she also worked with Herb, managing the business side of Peterson's Service Station in Stoughton. Â Isabelle was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and was a role model to them all. Â She is survived by 3 children, Jim (Chris) Peterson, Christine (Michael) Dunn, and Karen (Paul) Moss; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, JoAnn Lynch and Georgia (James) DeBolt. Â She was preceded in death by her husband Herb in 2004. Â Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 11:00 am at Skaalen Home Chapel, 400 N. Morris St., Stoughton, with the Rev. James Koza officiating. Â Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Stoughton. Â The family will greet friends at Skaalen Chapel on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Â In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the H. Isabelle Peterson Healthcare Education Scholarship Fund, in care of the family.
