Iva L. Klumph

Madison -- Iva L. Klumph, age 93, died on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at St. Mary's Care Center in Madison. She was born on May 24, 1916 on a farm in Illinois, where she lived with her parents and 11 sisters and brothers. On March 16, 1936 Iva was united in marriage to Forrest Klumph, and together they lived on a farm until Forrest hurt his back. Iva was a full time wife and mother, who took care of her husband and daughter. They moved to Sharon, Wisconsin, where Forrest worked at the bank, and preceded Iva in death on November 1, 1962. When Iva's daughter graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Iva moved to Madison to live with Beverly. Iva worked at Gimbels, first in the bargain basement and then in the lingerie department. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidery, making beautiful afghans for years. She also enjoyed traveling with Beverly, and family picnics at the zoo. As long as she was able, she enjoyed being with family and playing cards. Iva is survived by her daughter, Beverly A. Klumph; sisters and brothers, Dorothy Humbracht, Donald Jeffers, and Ellen (Edward) Anderson; special friend and caregiver, Mary Lou Schwartzlow; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest R. Klumph; parents, John and Ellen Jeffers; brothers and sisters, Vera Casper, Lillian Jeffers, Violet Krebs, Sarah Goodwin, Earl Jeffers, Rosella Peterson, Marian Hahn, Florence Crull, and Jerrold Jeffers. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at BETHANY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 3910 Mineral Point Road, Madison with Rev. Brad Mather officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Sharon on Thursday afternoon at 2:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Bethany United Methodist Church, 3910 Mineral Point Road, Madison, WI 53705.
