Jack Green died peacefully at Sylvan Crossings on September 10, 2022. He was 96. Jack was born in Oklahoma on May 28, 1926, and he grew up there.
After serving in the Army Air Corps, he met the love of his life on a blind date in September 1946. They were married on March 14, 1947. Jack’s whole career was working for the Unites States Geological Survey, mainly analyzing water tables and water usage. His job first sent him to California, then to Waukesha, and then to Madison in 1966, where he lived the rest of his life.
Jack had several passions. He was an avid stamp collector. He had a private pilot’s license, and he learned to parachute. He had a telescope and loved looking at the night sky. His motorcycle may have been his favorite of all.
Jack is survived by his wife of 75 years, Jo Ann of Waunakee, and his daughters Becky (Dave) Giles of Waunakee, and Suzi Green of Madison. He is further survived by his two granddaughters, Mallory (Jerod) Nelson of Holmen and Whitney Graf of Madison, and his great-grandchildren Clara and Ivan Nelson.
Private services will be held at a later date.
