Jackson J. Blumenthal, age 53, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2009 at his home in Oregon. He was born in Chicago on September 16, 1955, the son of Shepard and Marilyn (Silverman) Blumenthal. Jack was raised by his father and Ann V. Blumenthal, his adoptive step-mother. Jack attended Keith Country Day School and high school in Ojai, California. He graduated from Edgewood College with a degree in History. He won the Spencer Tracey Award for the State of Wisconsin and won the Edgie Award for History. Jack was a devoted and loving father to his sons, Justin and Eddie. He most enjoyed watching them wrestle and spending time with them. Jackson worked as a sport Hypnos Therapist and had been mentioned in books and magazines for his work with athletes. He was also a licensed hearing instrument specialist. He enjoyed traveling the United States for his businesses. He was passionate about baseball and enjoyed reading about and studying history. He was an accomplished racquetball player and bowler.
He is survived by: his 2 sons- Justin Leo of Sun Prairie; and Eddie of Madison; by his father, Shepard (Jean) Blumenthal, of Rockford, IL; adoptive mother, Ann V. Blumenthal of Rockford; his first wife and mother of Justin and Eddie, Margy May of Madison. He is further survived by his second wife, Michelle R. Blumenthal; and his girlfriend, Clare Henriksen; Margy's family, and many, many friends. Jack was preceded in death by his mother, his grand parents, and his aunt.
Jack's quick wit, keen sense of humor and outstanding ability to debate anything will be missed by all who knew him. ""We wish you peace""
A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held on Friday, March 27, 2009 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and at 4:00 pm there will be a informal service of remembrance and sharing at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home. A memorial scholarship will be established in Jackson's memory for a Stoughton High School Student.
