SUN PRAIRIE - Jackson Cole Steele A bright shining star was extinguished on April 18, 2011. It is so hard to say goodbye to such an amazing young man. Jackson was so full of life and potential. He loved to spend time with his family riding bikes, swimming, reading, working with his mom on puzzles, and helping out his dad in the garage. He also loved music as he played the clarinet and viola and was looking forward to learning the saxophone. The Beetles were by far his favorite band.
Jackson was a 6th grade student at Patrick Marsh Middle School where he was proud to be taking accelerated math. He was a Blue-Stripe belt in Karate, on his way to becoming a Black Belt. His dream was to attend the Naval Academy like his dad and become an engineer and design things or a doctor to help people. There was no limit to the possibilities in his future.
Jackson was born in Marshfield on April 23, 1999 to Richard and Joan (Socha) Steele.
Jackson is survived by his mom and dad; grandparents Betty Socha, Athens and Ronald and Naomi Steele, Stoughton; aunts and uncles Lani and Todd Kohrt, Brian and Colleen Steele, Scott and Lisa Steele, Andy Steele, Barb and Al Wirkus, Mike and Donna Socha, Pat and Michelle Socha, Bob and Julie Socha, Bonnie and Matt Hinze, Mark and Sue Schalow, many cousins who loved him and his furry friend, Teddy. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joseph Socha.
A memorial service will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at 3:30 p.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, April 21, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
The family suggest memorials in Jackson's name be given to Camp Kesem, a camp for children affected by cancer, which helped Jackson through a difficult time.
