Jacyln Sulman Seigel, known as Jackie, age 74, passed away at her home on July 11, 2018. She was born in New London, Connecticut, to Joseph Sulman and Edna Peck Sulman. After earning a BA from Penn, she spent a year traveling throughout India and neighboring countries. She married Sherwood Seigel on June 14, 1970, and they moved to Madison in 1974, settling in the Nakoma neighborhood. Jackie worked at the Office of Consumer Protection and the State Ethics Board. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, singing, Scrabble, garage sales, and spending time with family. After retiring, Jackie volunteered as an English language tutor and at the Agrace Hospice Thrift Shop, worked part-time as a captionist at CapTel, and traveled internationally with Sherwood. Since 2008, she and Sherwood lived at Arboretum Cohousing, where she was active in managing building recycling and was a valued member of the community.
Jackie is survived by her husband, Sherwood, son Ben, daughter Amanda, son Matthew (Naomi Nuñez) and grandchildren Sammy, Elia, and Isaiah, mother-in-law Blossom Seigel, brothers- and sisters- in-law Marty and Roberta Seigel and Lynne and Marc Kaplan, brother Richard, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Joseph Sulman.
