Jacqueline Ann Paltz, age 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2008 at HospiceCare surrounded by her loving family.   She was born on January 15, 1927 the daughter of Gordy and Vera (Murphy) Gay in Madison.   Jacqueline graduated from East High School in 1944.  After graduation she went to work for Madison Drug Company.  Jacqueline was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Harold  Paltz, on June 17, 1947, after he returned from the war.  Harold passed away on March 31, 2007.   She was employed as an office manager for Dr. Iams and Dr. Weatherhogg from 1955 until her retirement in 1988.  Jacqueline loved to cook, and enjoyed large family gatherings. Her many delicious and ""secret"" recipes will be missed by her family and friends. Jackie also was a photographers model for many businesses and special occasions in the Madison area.  Jacqueline was a 30 year member of the Elks Club, volunteered in St. Mary's Gift Shop, and was a member of St. James Catholic Church.  Jacqueline  is survived by her loving daughters; Julie (Mark) Bradley, Trudy (Steve) Smith, and Suzanne (Jeff) Bolin, cherished grandchildren; Jennifer (Paul) Berg, Michelle (Drew) Pendergrass, Matthew (Jamie) Smith, Heather (Jeff) Straw, Mackenzie Smith, Brandon Smith, Brittany  and Michael Bolin, great grandchildren; Charlie, Oscar, and Lucy Berg, Henry Pendergrass, and Shaylee, Payton, and Ashlee Smith.  Jackie is further survived by sisters, Beverly ( Wayne) Hansen and Susie Cusack; sister-in-law, Kathleen Mader; brother-in-law, Bill Paltz; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordy and Vera Gay, her husband Harold, Richard Cusack, George Mader, Lorraine Paltz, Carroll and Lillian Paltz, and in-laws William and Mae Paltz.    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 3, 2008 at ST JAMES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1128 St. James Ct., with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Pkwy, Madison, WI 53711, St Mary's Care Center 3401 Maple Grove Dr., Madison, WI  53719, or St. James Catholic Church, 1128 St James Ct., Madison, WI  53715.  The family would like to thank the staffs of St. Mary's Care Center and the Ellen and Peter Johnson HospiceCare Residence for their loving and compassionate care.   Mom will be greatly missed for her unselfishness and the love she had for her family.
