Jacqueline Rae Wing (Switzky) born September 12, 1945 went home to be with the Lord August 22, 2011. She is survived by her husband Terry Wing, daughter Jennifer (Jim) Betancourt, son Jay (Lisa) Wing, grandsons Jim and Brandon Betancourt and granddaughters Amber and Ashley Wing; and siblings Steve Switzky, Tom Switzky, Ellie Switzky, Bob (Kathy) Switky, Sarah (Brian) Goosen, and Jan (Lori) Switzky. She was also survived by nephews Adam, Colin and Caelan Switzky, nieces Bailey and Missy Switzky, Stephanie(Dennis) Grejczyk and grand niece Megan Grejczyk . She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Margaret Switzky, sister in law Jean Switky and nephew Davd Switzky.
Jackie was a member of Heritage Congregational Church, it's choir and the Quest Octet. She enjoyed ministering to loved ones through music. "Ma Wing's" home was a sanctuary to many, she loved and nurtured everyone she came in contact with. She was an avid reader and scrabble player who kept her dictionary close at hand. Walking into her home any evening one would find her sitting at the kitchen with a book in her hand, a cup of coffee on the table, and a smile on her face.
She was an amazing wife to Terry and was blessed to love and be loved by her husband of 46 years. Their devotion to one another was a true example to their entire family. She was a dedicated mom who taught her children through example and was a comfort and peaceful presence in their lives. Her role as "sister" transcended into a maternal roll for her siblings, loving and caring for each one as if they were her own. She was a wonderful listener, confidant, and giver of wisdom. Her grandchildren, nieces and nephews were her pride and joy. Whether they were in Madison, Appleton or Austin she always knew what they were up too....good or not so good!
Jackie retired from Madison Gas and Electric in 2004, where she worked serving the community as a customer service agent. The MG and E family have always been a significant presence in her life as she remained in touch with her co-workers after her retirement.
Jackie was blessed in 2000 to receive a kidney from her angel on earth Bob Millholland. His unselfish gift gave us all 11 cherished bonus years. A vascular surgery to restore circulation to her toes turned into a serious infection, which sent Jackie to The Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice on August 2.
The last three weeks of her life were lived on her terms. Surrounded by family, friends, and music she was truly happy. The Hospice staff was a breath of fresh air every day and helped Jackie and each family member prepare for her passing with dignity and peace.
A celebration of her life will be held at Heritage Congregational Church 3102 Prairie Rd Madison , on Saturday August 27th, with a visitation from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm and a Memorial Service at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her memory to the American Diabetes association or Hospice Care Inc. of Madison. Arrangements made by Cress Funeral Home Middleton.
"Her humble spirit and beacon of hope to so many, will live on in our hearts."
