WAUNAKEE—Jacqueline A. (Zindars) Johnson, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. Jackie was born in Oconomowoc, WI on February 1, 1929 to Elmer and Orabelle Zindars. The family later moved to Madison where she attended area schools and graduated from Central High. She had a genuine interest in people and made friends wherever she went. Her smile, warmth, and sense of humor was known to her classmates, neighbors, and many friends and co-workers from Leske’s Supper Club. With Jackie in your world, you never felt alone. Her attention to the little things, her sense of style, her laughter and fun-loving spirit made hers a happy home filled with cherished memories. Jackie was admired for her quiet courage, her compassion and kindness toward others, and above all--her unshakeable faith. Jackie will be lovingly remembered by her adoring daughters Julie (Charlie) D'Avanzo, Susan Syvrud, Lynn (Pete) Anderson, and Jan Johnson; her cherished grandchildren Paul and Andy D'Avanzo, Matthew Judd, Annalise Anderson, and Callie (Alex) Runyans; and her great grandchildren Faye and Dylan Judd.
Also remembered by her beloved brother, Tom (Michele) Zindars; nephews and nieces, Chris Amlie (Izzy), Eric (Marge) Amlie, Michael (Richelle) Zindars, Rebecca (Alex) Gebhart, great nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends, most especially Jackie's 'Earth Angel', Frank Clingan.
She is now reunited with her dear mom and dad, and sister, Marilyn Amlie who preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 12th at 1:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 209 South St, Waunakee with Monsignor James Gunn presiding. A visitation will be held at the church at 12:30 PM until the time of Mass.
