James Casteel

Sun Prairie - James Casteel, age 73, passed peacefully on February 25, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 22, 1943, in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. James was married to the love of his life, Esther Casteel, for 36 years. He was a loyal employee at Walmart for 15 years and made many friendships there. He was dedicated to his family and friends and they enjoyed watching him scream at the TV while cheering on the Brewers, Packers, and the Badgers. He also enjoyed fishing and watching his sons play sports. He took great pride in his 23 years of sobriety. Don Slotten you never gave up on dad! We know dad did all the work, but you never gave up and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. He felt complete when he was able to reconnect with his sons in TX and AZ. James touched many different lives welcoming friends into his home and would never think twice about helping anyone in need. To this day these young men consider him a role model and his morals will live on in them forever, being known to anyone that knew him as a man with the heart of gold. Jimbo "rattlesnake" will be deeply missed by all but never forgotten.

He was survived by his "Lovie" Esther Casteel; his siblings, John & Jerry Campbell; his children, James Boles (AZ), Scott Webb (TX), Jeremy Casteel (WI), Jason Casteel (WI); his twelve cherished grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence & Charles; his sister, Vivian, his brother Gene; and his son, Craig Boles.

A Celebration of life will be held at DALY'S BAR AND GRILL, 1086 Emerald Terrance Sun Prairie, WI 53590, on Saturday, March 18, 2017, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.
