Stoughton - James M. Catrona, age 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 30, 2017. He was born on September 21, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Paul and Wilhemina (Hess) Catrona.
James was an avid fisherman enjoyed the Packers, Badgers, prime rib and a good scotch. Retired Tool & Dye maker for Grumman Aerospace, Bethpage NY. Responsible for machining NASA Lunar Module (LM) components for Apollo 11.
The family would like to thank Peggy Kiss, his Caregivers and the Stoughton Community Hospital Med Surge Unit for their enduring love and care they provided our father.
James is survived by his sons, John (Bernadette) Catrona of New York, Barry Baruch of Madison; daughter, Kathleen Wagstaff of Georgia; grandchildren, Robert Wagstaff, Claire Wagstaff, Samuel Wagstaff, and Jonathan Catrona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wives Laurel and Winifred Catrona.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 3, 2017 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 323 N. Van Buren St., Stoughton, with Father Randy Budnar presiding. Visitation will be held from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect St. with a prayer service at 3 p.m. Food and refreshments will be provided on Sunday.
